Haul: Boots, Superdrug, Lush and The Body Shop

Last Saturday I went into town to get a few things that I've been wanting for a while now. Got some pretty good deals on what I brought too, so thought I'd share it all.

Simple Cleansing Wipes were on offer, 3 for £5 so i got some as I've heard they're good but never tried them before.

Got these two on offer for 2 for £5, so great deal when they're normally about £4.90 each! I use and repurchase the pink grapefruit daily scrub regularly, but wanted to try out the new moisturiser in the line too.

Not that you need to know this, but my feet got unusually dry skin recently so brought Soap & Glory's Heel Genius to see if it worked as I have previously enjoyed using their hand cream. Also heard that the St Ives scrubs are good so will try that one out too. It was half price too, so that's a bonus!

These are just the razors I use and repurchase every time I run out. Not much more to say about that purchase!

While on my spending spree I had to treat myself to some make-up. I've wanted to get the Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle since they came out in this country as it's the perfect everyday colour for me, but first tried out a slightly more daring colour being Candy Apple. I've heard the Sleek eye palettes are good, couldn't decide between 'au natural' and 'storm', but got this one. I brought all 3 of these on the 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug.

I wanted to try this to see if it worked as a spot treatment basically.

I find it so annoying when my lips get even a little dry. It is not a good look when I want to wear lipstick, so hopefully this will help. Also it smells/tastes like After Eights so I'll definitely look forward to using it.

That's everything! May end up doing a review for some of the products mentioned here after I have used them for a while.

TAG: Would you rather?

Q1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?

A: Definitley messy hair and nice make-up.

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

A: Hard one! Shave my eyebrows?

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?

A: I've never shopped at either but as we don't have Sephora in the UK I'd choose MAC.

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?

A: 80's perm. I've seen picture of my Mum in the 80's with her perm and always wondered what I'd look like with one.

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

A: Neither would look nice but an obvious foundation line would be preferred to looking like a clown!

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?

A: Without thinking, much rather wear biker shorts in public.

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?

A: Really weird tan lines. Not a good look but better than looking orange!

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

A: Bad hair cut, which can disguised a lot easier than a bad hair colour.

9.Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?

A: Twitter. I rarely use it.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

A: You can get away without using make-up brushes so I'd rather give up those.

Skincare Haul: No7, Garnier, Soap and Glory.

Recently I seem to have being buying a lot of new things for myself. I've just been letting myself buy a few things that I know I really want. Today I brought these 3 new skincare products in Boots. I way very pleased with this purchase as I only had to spend 80p of my own money on £17 worth of products! (This was due to receiving a £10 Boots voucher from filling out surveys online, a £5 off No7 voucher given to me after a previous Boots purchase and the moisturiser was currently being sold at a reduced price.) There will be reviews of all these products coming up after I have tried them out for long enough.

First thing I brought and the main thing I knew I wanted was this No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser. I've heard that this has been compared to the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser which has been raved about in the beauty community so I wanted to try it out. It says it is suitable for all skin types and the cleanser comes with a muslin cloth. It is currently on sale for £10, available from Boots stores only. (Only £5 if you use a £5 off No7 voucher.)

I brought this moisturiser as I am running out of the one I am currently using (Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser) and wanted to try something different. I haven't read any reviews on this product previous to buying but thought I would try it out from the description on the box. This product is normally on sale in Boots for £4.99 but is currently being sold at the reduced price of £3.33.

Last thing was this Soap and Glory Flake Away exfoliator. I have heard recommendations for this product and so I brought the smallest size of it to try out. This is currently priced at £2.50 in Boots.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Yesterday I brought this Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Honey. I'd wanted to get this for quite a while, since I saw beauty gurus in America raving about them. When I see something that alot of people are recommending I really want to have it myself and I know I would really want it until I had it. So I let myself get this yesterday as it's currently being sold for £5.99 in Superdrug as an introductory offer.

The packaging of these looks extremely similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks. The end of the 'chubby crayon' style lip product has a retractable function so there is no need to sharpen it.

There are currently 7 shades available from Superdrug only in the UK. The shade Honey is most similar to my natural lip colour but it comes off a little more of a berry colour which is darker than I'd expected. Although I still love the colour and think I will get a lot of wear out of this. It has a glossy appearance on the lips which lasts a while but the colour stain stays on your lips even longer. It's not at all sticky or drying, in fact it feels very moisturising on the lips. There is also a subtle peppermint fragrance which I love and think that's the reason it has a slight cooling sensation when applied.

My Top 5 Youtube Beauty Gurus

I love YouTube, and I love watching beauty videos on YouTube! I think it's pretty amazing that these few people from all over the world have created a community by sharing something they have a passion for. They upload videos of hair and makeup tutorials, product reviews, advice and how-to's as well as lots more. I may not have much money to spend on the beauty products mentioned in all the videos, but when I do want to buy something I think it's so useful that I can take recommendations from these people. I am subscribed to alot of beauty realated channels on YouTube, but these are the first 5 that come to mind as my favourites. (In no particular order because I love them all!)

1. Ingrid from missglamorazzi

Ingrid's so sweet and usually does very natural make up looks. Her videos are well paced and she's very easy to listen to. I love hearing what products she recommends and trust her opinions.

2. Allison from Amarixe

Allison has a great sense of humour and her eye makeup always looks flawless. The make-up looks in her tutorials look amazing, so inspire me to try some of them out. Allison also gives very thorough reviews of beauty products she had tried.

3. Fleur from Fleur De Force

Fleur's down-to-earth personality really comes across in her videos. You can tell that she has a passion for makeup and loves sharing her thoughts on products with her viewers. She's also from the UK and so I know that the products she talks about will be available here.

4. Megan from meganheartsmakeup

Megan has such a fun girly personality and I always look forward to watching her videos. I think Megan's a great role model for teenagers as she gives great advice and seems to come across as someone who simply enjoys life. Her fashion and beauty videos are great too!

 5. Tanya from pixi2woo

Tanya's a professional makeup artist. Most of the videos on her beauty channel are makeup tutorials, and quite often she will be doing a celebrity inspired look requested for by her viewers. She does a great job of these and they are very easy to follow.

No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick

A few weeks ago I acquired this lipstick from my Mum. I'd been looking to get a myself a new lipstick for a while and was looking out for a colour which would look natural on me as I never usually where anything on my lips. I couldn't find a colour in the shops that I really liked, but whilst looking through my Mum's make-up I found that most of her lipsticks where the perfect colour I was looking for, and ended up keeping this one!

It's a No7 Lipstick from the Moisture Drench range in the shade Chic, number 60. The packaging of No7 lipsticks may appear fairly plain but in the light green and pink glitter shows up in the black plastic casing.

The colour is a nude toned pink which is close to my natural lip colour. It's one of those 'your lips but better' colours for me. It also contains SPF 15 and has a moisturising formula.

This is first lipstick I have owned and really used. I love the colour of this lipstick and it doesn't feel drying on my lips, although most of the time I apply my Burt's Bees Lip Balm before applying this. It currently available from Boots for £10.

Beauty Blog

For a few months now I've been writing on my blog beanyjane.blogspot.com where I have loved sharing my thoughts, things I love and what's been going on in my life. I've been writing about all sorts on there and lots of things I am interested in, but I realised there are so many things I am interested in that it would make more sense to separate them to each have a blog focused on that interest, so that it wasn't such a jumble. Hence my new beauty blog.

This is going to include anything beauty related, i.e. make up, skincare, haircare, nails etc. All of which I am very interested in. My interest of this is increased even more by my obsession of watching beauty gurus on youtube and reading beauty related blogs. I would like to do a similar thing but have very limited funds to buy new products so it is very rare that I get to try new things. Nevertheless, I can still blog about the products I do use and what I have thought of them. There are also fun tags that go around youtube which I thought could also be done on a blog. If you have any ideas of beauty related topics to write about please let me know. Hope you enjoy the posts to come.
